Not only has this guy become famous in an instant, it looks like he's not just a "flash in the pan" because is seems as though he understands how to use social media apps to promote himself and other things around him. [Update: He and everyone else IS a "flash in the pan" as far as Vine is concerned - since they're pulling the plug on Vine!]
Had you heard of Jerome before reading the article? What do you think of what he's done on Vine? What do you think about this kind of opportunity with mobile apps, such as Snapchat? Can anybody do it? Will such fame last, and is it something that can be made into a legitimate business?

Yes I have, I think he has done a good thing with the use of Vine. I believe that it is possible to become famous and do a lot in your life from these apps. I think that anyone has a chance of doing it and it is possible for someone to become popular. I don't think the fame from becoming famous or popular on an app will last forever but there is a possibility that it could last longer than everyone else's. I think that if you're serious about something and if people who follow you are serious, there is a chance where it could become a business.

DeleteYes i've heard of Jerome his vines are very funny. I think that mobile apps have given many people around the world opportunities such as Cameron Dallas and Nash Grier. Both of them became very famous over vine, youtube, and many other social media sites. For some the fame might last a long time, but for others it doesn't. Such as the youtube channel O2L ended a while back, but when it was active they were very famous but sooner or later their group of friends all quit the youtube channel. If you have the passion to make something into a business I think that anyone could do it.
ReplyDeleteI agree, It is a great way to make money, and to get famous. I don't know if anyone can do it though. It has to take some acting and not anyone can do that.
DeleteYou made a good point, sometimes the fame doesn't last forever. Especially if you go in with other people and they decide they don't want to do it anymore.
DeleteNo I haven't I think you could become famous with these apps and make it last if you are creative and come up with new things all the time if you are popular it will probably last a very long time if you seem important and have the right people you could come up with a business but that will always depend on the circumstances.

DeleteI have heard of Jerome, and I've found his vines mildly entertaining. I think that social media has given many opportunities to people to become very famous. I mean, there are enough people I can think of off the top of my head that are still currently relevant, and I think it definitely can be made into legitimate businesses.

DeleteI have heard of him, I thought they were funny and entertaining. The internet is a great area to expand creativity. There is thousands of people who have gotten famous from this. It is a good opportunity for businesses, and to make money. I feel like some people don't know what to do now that Vine is closing.

Deletei haven't heard of this guy before, and i think he is probably doing something good by being entertaining. But you could make a living off of doing stuff online, but it'll be extremely hard to do so, and not everyone will be able to pull it off, and if you do, your fame won't last to long.

DeleteNo, I haven't heard of him, but it's crazy how he was able to become famous from 7 second videos. With new social medias a things, it's much easier for people with hidden talent to become popular. Also, the fact that anyone could use these apps and possibly become famous gives people many opportunities.

DeleteI hadn't heard of Jerome until reading that article, but I think what he's done on vine is pretty impressive. I think it is amazing that social media has grown so much that just about anybody with some talent can go out and make themselves into a celebrity. The internet can help you get out there, but only the people with a true talent will last and turn it into a business. If you're just mediocre the fame won't last forever.

DeleteI've seen some of his vines before but they never really caught my interest, yes they were funny but yet a bit weird, I like it? What he's doing is entertaining to anyone that watches his stuff, he could turn one persons day with just 7 seconds, wether its a smile or a laugh. Stuff like this is possible to pull of fame but just like everything else, it may not last. Just think, Vine is already getting shut down and on snapchat it may be a bit harder to do this stuff but it could still be entertaining. Nothing lasts forever, that much is true.

ReplyDeleteI have not heard of Jerome, but I think he is a great example for other teenagers who find themselves producing Vines or You Tube videos. He shows that you can take the smallest, easiest thing, and make a career or life out of it. I do not think most people can manage to be great video producers, but some people are just natural comedians.

DeleteI remember watching some of his vines in the beginning of Vines popularity. A lot of people have become famous from the app, for an example, Liza Koshy started with creating 6 second videos and has become extremely popular. It's crazy how an app can create such fame.

DeleteI have kinda heard of the guy before, but just by his picture. I feel what he is and has done has made a positive impact in people's lives. I do feel though, that this is not for everyone, and his talent is something special, especially when he has found alternatives to keep his image alive, which some of these "Viners" might not be able to do.
ReplyDeleteI agree, that it is not easy for just anyone to go and make Vines like his. Jerome is very talented at what he does. I am not saying he's the best or anything but he is pretty creative and I don't think most people would be able to do all the stuff he can do on Vine with his talent.
DeleteYes I have seen Jerome Jarre on Vine many times when I used to have the app. My opinion is that he has made some pretty cool vines and they are creative, I think that you have to know how to use the app very well to be able to come up with cool ideas on social media apps. I don't think that everyone can do it because if you don't know how to use the app then it won't be that cool of whatever you are doing on that app. I don't think that fame will last unless you take it to a whole new level by doing what celebrities do, not just what you keep doing. But I don't think that many people have chances of getting famous by apps like Vine, Youtube, etc., because so many people try to get famous only so few do succeed in this. I think if it's in the moment they can make it into a business when you create Vines and stuff but soon it gets old and your business is going to die because look at Pokémon Go, it was a huge sensation for about 2 months maybe longer, and I'm not saying that all people don't play it but very few do. Which shows that these things don't last long.

ReplyDeleteyes i have heard of him, i used to use vine a lot and i washed a lot of vines, but some people are just naturally good with making videos and stuff like that, and some people just aren't, It matters who the person is. These things don't usually last long, when it was anew app everyone had to have it, but after awhile a new app came out and then everyone forgot about it.

With more types of social media like Snapchat, Musically, Instagram, and Youtube a lot of vloggers and social media celebrities have more diverse ways of putting out content, and yes anyone can become famous through social media. Only time can tell if this kind of fame will last, but for more popular social media celebrities this is their way of making a living now and it's more than just a hobby.
